Cranberry Sage Mezcal Cocktail

It’s officially holiday season! Which means I found some extra cranberries mixed with some sugar and cinnamon sitting in a bowl on the counter. I decided to make a cranberry simple syrup and create a cocktail from there!

Ingredients

Cranberry simple syrup

  • 6 oz cranberries tossed in some sugar and cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Cocktail

  • 1 1/2 oz mezcal
  • 1/4 oz bourbon
  • 1/2 oz cranberry simple syrup
  • 4-5 dashes orange bitters
  • 2 sage leaves
  • Splash of Topo Chico

Instructions

  1. Boil simple syrup ingredients for about 15 min.
  2. Mash cranberries.
  3. Pour syrup through strainer. And chill.
  4. Combine all cocktail ingredients in shaker with ice.
  5. Pour over ice cube.
  6. It comes out a little thick so top with however much topo chico you want.
  7. Take one save leaf, bend in half and slice so leaf sits on the rim of the glass.
  8. Rub sage around rim of glass.
  9. Serve! 🥂
