Broccoli Beef stir fry

The carnivore loves Chinese Broccoli beef. Like the kind you get takeout at 1.35 Scoop. So I made some for Valentines Day.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak
  • 1 lb broccoli
  • 1 bell pepper (or any other veggies you want to throw in, optional)
  • 1/2 onion
  • 2-3 tsp oil
  • 1.5 cup rice

Sauce ingredients

  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 3-4 cloves garlic – minced
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 6 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 Tbsp packed light brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp corn starch
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 2 Tbsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Cook rice.
  2. Combine ingredients for sauce.
  3. Cut onion into chunk, and broccoli into floretes.
  4. Heat 1 tsp oil and add veggies. Add a little water to soften them up. Remove from pan
  5. While veggies are cooking slice the meat against the grain very thin.
  6. Heat 1 tsp oil and cook the meat in batches flipping pieces so each side gets about 2 minutes.
  7. Add veggies back to the pan, add sauce, simmer until you are ready to eat!
