Apple butter crisp ice cream with salted caramel

This is one of my fall favorites and one of my best ice cream creations. I use Apple butter made from fresh apples.

Ingredients

Ice cream base (Salt and Straw base and apple butter)

  • 1 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 Tbsp light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp dry milk
  • 1/4 tsp xanthan gum
  • 1 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup apple butter

Crisp

  • 1/2 cup instant oats
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Salted caramel

  • Recipe from salt and straw

Instructions

  • Make base and mix in apple butter, chill until cold
  • Prepare oat crisp topping, bake at 350 for 5-10 min, watching closely, it burns easily
  • Prepare salted caramel sauce
